The absence of words in this piece draws the audience into a world of introspection, where music becomes the vehicle for a more intimate journey.
Musical composition has been an integral part of the show’s creative process, serving as another tool on stage. We use improvisation as a means of direct connection with both the characters and the audience, drawing from traditional musical forms such as the suite, the waltz, and the fantasia.
We experimented with instrumentation in search of very distinct sonic textures. Distant voices, raw piano tones, the delicate melodies of an oboe, and the rhythmic interplay of orchestral strings form the mechanism of our soundscape—generated and performed live.
